Originally from Taichung, Taiwan, Wayne landed in Burnaby, BC as a primary school student. He has remained local, majoring in Honours Physiology in undergraduate studies followed by medical school at the University of British Columbia. He continued into his Internal Medicine residency at UBC, where he was selected and served as chief medical resident. Wayne is currently a second-year trainee in the Adult Nephrology fellowship and the chief nephrology fellow for 2020-21. Going forward, he will be pursuing extended training in the growing field of geriatric and palliative nephrology, with administrative interests in medical education and quality improvement. In his spare time, Wayne can be found tinkering with tunes on his electronic keyboard or entranced by a good mystery novel.
