Job Posting – Transplant Nephrologist

The University of British Columbia Division of Nephrology seeking physician applicants for positions in the Kidney Transplant Program, a provincial program delivered through 2 hospital sites in Vancouver BC.  

We are seeking applicants with expertise in the evaluation and management of kidney transplant patients.  

Applicants must have an M.D. or MD./Ph.D degree and certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with training/ experience in kidney transplantation methods including donor and recipient evaluation, in-patient and outpatient management of early and long term kidney transplant patients.  Applicants must be eligible to be licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. 

Clinical responsibilities include providing clinical care for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient services as a transplant nephrologist, donor allocation call, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Research or scholarship responsibilities are encouraged, and may include developing and/or maintaining clinical research, clinical areas of expertise, and quality improvement of administrative programs related to transplantation.  Exposure to medical students, residents, nephrology fellows, and transplant fellows is an expected component of responsibility, in teaching, rounds and other capacities. The role includes clinical, education and academic activities, and where applicable involvement with a research program focused in an area related to renal transplantation

Applicants will work across 2 sites in Vancouver, St Paul’s Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital, with primary assignment at one institution.
