Clinical Fellow
Dr. Ivette Ruiz Leija is a Mexican nephrologist. She completed her medical degree at the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi in Mexico, where she later completed her Internal Medicine and Nephrology Residencies at the Hospital Central Dr. Ignacio Morones Prieto.
Ivette is currently a fellow in the UBC Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Fellowship Program. Her main interests are pre-trasplant and post-transplant follow-up, including cardiovascular disease, mineral bone disease, infections and cancer. She is also very interested in learning about the different organ procurement programs around the world and their impact in their societies.
She is also interested in glomerulopathies, especially lupus nephritis, vasculitis and podocytopathies, with special focus on post-transplant recurrence.
